My goals for the community are to maintain the continuity and character of the neighborhood, while also being fiscally responsible and aware of the ongoing capital requirements that any large community requires. I’m looking forward to working harmoniously with other board members and the management team in an effort to continuously make IslandWalk a great place to live. Its no wonder why IslandWalk has been voted one of the best neighborhoods to live in Venice!*

For those of you who don’t know me, I have lived in IslandWalk for 22 years and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I have a loving spouse, who I have been married to for 13 years, and have a beautiful daughter. In my spare time, you’ll often see me on the tennis courts as I am an avid recreational and competitive player and can been seen daily walking throughout the community with my dog Brodie. I also spend a lot of time in the yard as gardening has always been a passion of mine. Coming from the north, I have had to do a lot of research to understand the flora of the south.

Fun fact about me: My husband and I are holiday enthusiasts. We came in third place in IslandWalk’s First Annual Festival of Lights. We promise to continue to bring you delight every holiday season! Please come by and enjoy our display.

I believe my background as a Compliance Professional and Financial and Operational Regulator make me the best candidate for the job. I have been working for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) for almost 30 years. Specifically, as a Director and Head of the Guidance and Procedures Support team, I am responsible for the development of Policy, Procedures and Guidance Documents that are utilized by our Risk Monitoring and Examination teams when conducting reviews of our members. I am also a point of reference to staff when questions arise regarding the applicability of the various rules and regulations we enforce (e.g., SEC, FINRA, regional stock exchanges, MSRB and the various states). In addition, I am no stranger to change. In my professional career, I have had to deal with several corporate-wide mergers and transformations. I have run various transformation teams and projects geared towards ensuring a seamless transition for staff. This experience will help me ensure that the transition that is about to occur is in the best interests of the residents of Islandwalk.

I believe I have the necessary experience to carry out the responsibilities in a fair and impartial manner. I am also very enthusiastic and give my all to every job that I am given. If elected, I promise to “listen”, be innovative, keep an open mind, bring diversity in thought while also being strategically aligned with the goals of the board, and make sure I understand the issues and the risks/rewards associated with them before making decisions. I will make every effort to ensure that all decisions have been thoroughly and thoughtfully discussed, giving appropriate consideration to the needs of the residents.
