I have been serving as one of the seven members of the Transition Committee since the summer of 2020. The purpose of that committee is to prepare for the turnover of control of the IslandWalk at the West Villages Homeowners Association Inc. board of directors from the developer to the residents. I have been the lead person for the legal and contracts subgroup and in that role, I have studied and researched the legal basis for homeowner association governance and the specific Governing Documents for IW. That effort included a detailed study of the financial and budgeting processes of the association. With that experience, my educational background, my professional experience in over forty-five years of law practice and my extensive volunteer experience, I believe that I will be an informed, competent and responsive board member.

I am a problem solver. I believe that my ability to listen critically and understand varying perspectives works well in seeking consensus solutions. I have extensive experience dealing with accounting, personnel and budgeting matters. My goal in seeking a board position is to assist in maintaining IslandWalk as a financially stable, congenial and satisfying community in which we are proud to live and socialize.
