PERSONAL HISTORY

My wife Debi, our dog Hazel and I have lived in IslandWalk as full-time residents since August 2017. I was raised in Pittsburgh but spent my professional life in central Ohio. For 38 years, I served in city management for two of the largest and fastest-growing suburbs of Columbus, Ohio; Westerville for 33 years and Grove City for 5 years. Both are full-service cities with populations exceeding 40k. My experience in budgeting; the management of capital improvements, purchasing, personnel and contract administration will be beneficial to our new Board of Directors as we are now managing our own city.

PLATFORM OF ISLANDWALK ISSUES

Follow up on the Transition Committee reports ensuring the accuracy of Pulte’s financial turnover audit and the completion of the engineering studies that may identify any deficiencies that Pulte must correct. Maintain transparency and accountability for all Board activities and all financial reporting. Hold all contractors, including Castle and Brightview, accountable for their work and that their pricing is competitive. Develop a 5-year capital improvements plan that looks ahead and maintains our physical assets including our lakes. Maintain the Reserve Fund necessary to handle capital improvements and to deal with unexpected emergencies. Create a communications advisory team that develops surveys and focus groups that listen to what our residents want and need. Expand electronic services. Develop a landscape maintenance plan for the common areas that retains the beauty of our community and is also economically viable. Keep our recreational and social activities and all facilities second to no one.
